Eco Friendly Cleaning with Norwex

July 20, 2017 By Vanessa Pronge

Norwex Products Changed Everything!!

Did you know you could clean up to 90% of your home with just WATER and some incredible Norwex Products??! Amazing right? That’s right just water!! And a really cool tool from Norwex. That tool is a unique microfiber cloth unlike any other microfiber out there! It’s not only over 300 times finer than regular microfiber but it also has micro silver embedded right in the fibers. Silver is a natural anti microbial so it helps deter bacterial growth within the cloth. If you’re like me and hate to do laundry then this is right up your alley! Because of it’s self sanitizing ability you don’t have to wash it as often as you do a regular cotton cloth. It will take a lot longer for it to get stinky.

$$$SAVE$$$

Plus think of the savings you’ll get from no longer needing to buy paper towels!! You’ll save even more when you realize how much money Norwex Products can save you. CHACHING!! $$$ SAVE $$$ SAVE $$$ SAVE $$$!! The best part about these cloths is not just that they are antimicrobial with in the cloth but that they are actually effective at picking up 99% of bacteria from surfaces when used according to instructions.

Those instructions are super easy! Just wet the Enviro Cloth, wring it out real good, fold so you have 8 working surfaces. Lay flat on the surface and with a flat open hand to wipe your surface clean. Turn to another square and clean another surface and so on until you’ve gone through all 8 squares. Then rinse under running water (most of the germs will go down the drain along with the water, wring out, then either use again and repeat the process or hang to dry. It takes just 24 hours for the silver to do it’s work while the cloth drys. If there is any little bit of bacteria left behind deep in the fibers the micro silver that’s embedded in the fiber will squelch any bacteria from multiplying. So they just wither away and die naturally.

How to take proper care of your Norwex Products?

How do you care of you Norwex Microfiber? Easy!! If you have a busy home like I do and that enviro cloth is being used all day long every day of the week. Simply put it in the wash with non linty items. Just remember no Chlorine Bleach and no Fabric Softener. It’s safe to put through the dryer or you can hang to dry.

Norwex microfiber is warrantied to work for up to 500 washes or 2 years, which ever comes 1st. After this you’ll want to send your Norwex back to corporate for recycling. Easy Peasy right?! If you have any questions, would like to be added to my e-newsletter or would like to host a show just message me on here and I’d be happy to help!

Host a Show!

Keep in mind I do fast fun and totally fantastic Facebook Parties! As well as in home parties. If you live out of state I’d strongly encrouage you to host a FB show! Other wise a home party would be great, that way you can have a fun night in with your girl friends. Theme parties are all the rage right now so lets talk about this, I’d be thrilled to help you host a show and help you become your friends super hero. They’ll thank you for introducing them to these great products and you’ll reap incredible rewards. Norwex is crazy generous to our party hostesses. Most will earn anywhere between $200 for an average $600 party or up to nearly $600 worth in FREE Norwex Products just for hosting a show with a few of your best friends. Lets talk about this!

How to soak your nuts for greater nutritional value.

July 20, 2017 By Vanessa Pronge

Soak your nuts for greater nutritional value!

Ever wonder how to soak your nuts for greater nutritional value? Me, neither!! But I’ve learned doing this is greatly beneficial for us humans! Because we’ve been eating nuts wrong all these years!!

Ok So I haven’t always been the most healthiest person on Earth… Wow shocker, right? Hey, I grew up in the 80’s when TV Dinner’s, McDonalds Big Macs, Canned and Processed Foods like Hot Pockets were the staple of most family dinners. I was addicted to Diet Coke, I loved my Wine Cooler’s and Tab. Remember Tab?

I was the skinny girl who ate everything and anything and never gained an ounce. Yet I complained that I thought I was fat!! I would have smacked myself silly back then. If only I were as fat as I thought I was then now!! Fast forward a couple of decades. Past miscarriage, a cancer scare of my thyroid, weight gain, PCOS diagnosis, then diabetes and now early menopause and my DR thinks I have Type 1 adult onset diabetes. Did you know there is a strong correlation between PCOS and Hashimotos? I learned that my thyroid goiter should have been our 1st clue way back then. Well I’m going to learn more about this when I go back to my Dr’s later this week. So more on all of this in a future post.

But why am I giving you all this back-history on my health? To prove a point. Bear with me…

My point is that health issues take on a domino effect, if one thing is misdiagnosed and not treated properly all kinds of havoc can take place as you get older. I’m sure you already know that type 2 diabetes can be reversed. Not so much for type 1, in spite of healthy eating and prescription medication. Whoa back up a bit, back to when I was 1st diagnosed with type 2 diabetes we didn’t know back then about the type 1.5 or what they call adult onset diabetes. Back when I was a kid and still living in Mexico had a great aunt who had both of her legs amputated due to this disease. So, I knew a diabetes diagnosis was serious business! I didn’t want to be dependent on medications my entire life and I knew it was possible to reverse it. So, I sought out the help of a Holistic Health Coach. Especially after talking to the hospital assigned dietician and was encouraged to eat things I didn’t normally eat because I KNEW they were bad for me.

Enter the amazing and ultimate Holist Health Coach, Michelle Sala. I’ve been working with her for the past 4 years now. She’s opened up a whole new world of awareness for me! Stuff I never knew before!! I learn so much from this woman and she’s helped change my life and my view of food and food prep ever since. She’s also the lady who taught me about soaking my nuts. Because I love me some almonds, I could eat them all day long for days on end. There are other nuts out there I love also like Pecans and Walnuts. But I don’t love them nearly as much as I do almonds!!

How to soak your nuts for greater nutritional value
Soaking and redehydrating almonds.

Did you know…

Nuts and seeds could be a PILL to your digestive system? They have enzyme inhibitors and high levels of Phytic Acid which is a physiological protectant and an antioxidant. It protects the seed/nut until germination. But it’s harmful to humans which causes irritation and nutrient deficiencies because they bind to minerals in our gastrointestinal tract. This makes it difficult for us to absorb the nuts nutrients. All that nut munching isn’t benefiting us in any way when we eat them raw!! Instead we’re just causing havoc in our intestines.

If you love nuts like I do, don’t fret! There is light at the end of this tunnel!! Soaking your nuts will help neutralize the phytates and enzyme inhibitors. Simply soak in water over night, rinse all the gunk off them and lay them out on a baking sheet in your oven in low temperature heat or use a dehydrator. I was surprised to find that I love the flavor of them best this way!! And my family loves them too because there is no acidic aftertaste. What’s more doing this preserves the beneficial fats and proteins we so need!  Soaking them increases the bioavailability of important nutrients namely B vitamins and activates enzymes increase nutrient absorption.

I’ve since learned a whole lot more from my health coach now good friend. She’s taught me to do my own research on foods and how to scrutinize labels. I have a lot to share with you! Send me a comment if you’d be interested in a few almond recipes. How to make your own Almond Flower and Almond Butter. Interested in learning how to make Gluten Free & Sugar Free Banana Bread?

Happy Soaking!

My Mom’s Healthy Carb Free and Organic Albondigas Soup

July 19, 2017 By Vanessa Pronge

Try my mom’s Healthy Organic Albondigas Soup Recipe.

Do you ever get a nostalgic craving for something your mom used to make you when you were a child? One of my fondest memories was having my mom make me my favorite healthy organic albondigas soup. If you’ve never heard of Albonidgas Soup I’d suggest you try it! It’s the best in the whole wide world!! No seriously, it really is! My mom learned to make it from my grandmother who coincidentally lived to be 103 years old. So this stuff has to be good right? It’s a veggie and meatball soup with rice and mint. Yummmm…

I’ve helped my mom make this even healthier by using quinoa instead of rice and all organic ingredients. This is one of my most favorite childhood meals. My mom’s Healthy Organic Albondigas Soup! Happy Healthy Eating!

1 lb ground chicken or turkey (personally I prefer chicken)
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
¼ cup Chile Moreno finely chopped
¼ cup brown rice (20 min. soak to soften) or 1/4 cup Quinoa
Fist full of fresh oregano
Fist full of Fresh mint leaves (finely chopped)
2 med sized tomato (chopped)
3 to 4 cups of water (depending on how much soup you want)
Hot water as needed
Dash of olive oil
Chopped organic veggies any combination of:
Carrots
Squash
Green beans
Chayote squash
Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

In a pot with olive oil add chopped tomato, ½ garlic & 1/3 onion in low heat cover pot let simmer for about 5 mins until ingredients are soft and able to be mashed up with fork. Not too mushy leave them soft and chunky. There should be tomato juice in the pot. Add water to pot, cover and bring to a boil.

After soaking brown rice (quinoa) for about 20 mins remove all water and add to ground meat with ½ oregano, ½ mint, chile Moron, 1/3 onion, salt & pepper to taste. Blend all ingredients together.
Wet hands so meat mixture doesn’t stick to hands when making meat balls.
Add meat balls then hard veggies to boiling pot of water let boil for 15 mins. Add hot water as needed
Lastly add soft veggies, salt, pepper, remainder of onion, garlic, mint and oregano let boil for aprox 15 mins. or until all veggies are soft.
Turn off heat and let sit before serving until soup is at desired temperature. You don’t want to serve boiling water.
Add avocado and sprig of mint to garnish.

Green Organic Eco Friendly Gardening

July 19, 2017 By Vanessa Pronge

Let’s Talk Fertilizers and Eco Friendly Gardening

Eco Friendly Gardening

If you have a garden or plan on having one, the type of fertilizer you are using is of utmost importance for an eco friendly gardening experience. There are so many fertilizers to choose from and so many of them are toxic and horrible not only for our health, our environment and our pets but for our bees! SAVE THE BEES!! Please don’t use synthetic fertilizers! Here’s why…Repeated use may result in the build up of toxic chemicals such as arsenic uranium. You don’t want this stuff in your food if you’re growing fruits and vegetables.

  1. If you over use these products not only do you run the risk of killing your plants but ruining our eco system.
  2. They are mostly made from fossil  fuels and other nonrenewable sources.
  3. They mess up the delicate microbial ecosystem in the soil by changing the soils PH balance.
  4. Chemical Fertilizers will eventually seap or leach away from your plants so that more product is needed to get the same desired affect.
  5. They deplete soil of essential micro and macro nutrients.
  6. These chemicals don’t just affect the soil your plants are going on but they affect the very fiber of your plants and flowers. Thus affecting our bee populations.
  7. These chemicals also leach into our water supply which can negatively affect the delicate balance of our eco system.
  8. Fruits and vegetables of synthetic fertilizers are less nutritious then organically grown produce.
  9. There is a strong link to cancer from the use of herbicides and pesticides.

There are many benefits to using organic fertilizers instead of the alternative.

For instance as they break down, they add micro nutrients to the soil and increases its ability to hold water. Also because they are slow releasing they make it difficult to over fertilize your plants. Use these sources for organic fertilizer and they don’t have to be expensive. For example…

Eco Friendly Gardening

1. Compost at home! Use your own kitchen scraps to create your own compost bin.
2. Use Fish Emulsion or Fish Hydrolysate Fertilizer it’s safe to use around pets and kids.
3. Google Search Free Compost in your area.
4. Use foliage from your own garden to create your own compost pile.

The benefits of Eco Friendly Gardening are plentiful…

1. They eliminate environmental pollution.
2. Because compost provides a healthy environment for your plants they also keep weeds, insects and disease at bay.
3. It’s easier for your plants to absorb the nutrients from organic compost because the concentration of microorganisms is so high.
4. You can easily create it in your own garden compost pile.
